Abstract
The paper deals with angular resolution of phased antenna arrays and with methods of better angular resolution based on spectral estimation in the case of two close targets. Angular resolution with continuous scanning is dependent mainly on the angle distance between two close targets. Angular resolution with electronic scanning is not dependent only on the distance between two close targets, but also on the step size angle and starting point angle of scanning. It is possible to achieve better angular resolution by methods of direction of arrival (DOA). This paper presents DOA analysis of angular resolution of these methods: Capon, Pisarenko, MUSIC and ESPRIT.
