Abstract :
In this work, we present a dielectric surface wave antenna (DSWA) for applications requiring a directive radiation pattern. The proposed design is composed of a grounded, gradually tapered quarter of a dielectric cylinder with a low-profile corner reflector. The design is simulated, and its overall performance is investigated. Results show that the proposed antenna has an end-fire radiation pattern with high directivity in both the E-plane and H-plane. In addition, an impedance bandwidth that is better than 44% can be achieved.
