Abstract :
We investigate the transmission performance of 21.4-Gbps 4-PAM signals generated by using a 1.54-μm VCSEL. We achieve >8-dB power budget after 15-km transmission over SSMF by optimizing the extinction ratio and utilizing electronic equalization.
