Abstract :
In digital image processing field there are various segmentation techniques. This paper is based on watershed segmentation, one of the powerful segmentation method which helps the analysist to achieve the desired region from the image. This technique is successfully used in various domains for different applications. Here cancer affected thyroid images are subjected watershed algorithm which segments the image using morphological operations. This helps to achieve the region of interest from where its textural features such as mean, variance, entropy, standard deviation can be extracted.
