Abstract :
A Compact coplanar wave guide (CPW) fed printed antenna with reduced radiation hazard for mobile handset is presented by just varying the shape of ground planes. The printed metal strip structure in the back side of the monopole modifies the far field pattern, ideal for mobile handset. The antenna offers a bandwidth of 100MHz when printed on a substrate of dielectric constant (εr) 4.4 and thickness 1.6mm with an overall dimension of 21mm×20mm. Experimental and simulation results are presented and discussed using High Frequency Structural Simulator (HFSS).
