Abstract :
This paper proposes an algorithm technique for an asymmetric cascaded multilevel converter with one floating cell with reduced number of calculation. This control approach permits a unique DC source generate three-phase current with one main cell and one floating cell per phase. Main cells are handled by using a space vector control and floating cells are controlled by a predictive control algorithm technique. Floating capacitors voltages are controlled to maintain an asymmetry to maximize the number of load voltage levels with a reduce number of calculation, selecting only near vectors of previous solution. Results are presented in simulations.
