Abstract :
We propose an enhancement of OpenADR (Automated Demand Response) communication for flexible and fast ADR aggregation using the TRAP mechanism of newly developed IEEE1888 facility information access protocol. The TRAP mechanism makes it possible for an OpenADR server to push an occurrence of specific event for which the "TRAP" has been previously set by each client. Each client such as an aggregator is able to customize flexible and fast notification of server\´s events. Our simulation experiments have shown the average notification delay has been reduced from 19 to 2.2 seconds, i.e., by 90% The total ADR aggregation time with 100 sets of building facility emulation models has been improved by approximately 27%.
