Abstract :
It has been an exciting year of novel advancements in cardiovascular engineering. New molecular mechanisms have been discovered, and relationships leading to emergent behavior in the heart have been ascertained. Below is a brief review of these new developments as noted in the articles that make up this issue of the periodical.
