Abstract :
In this paper, an automated docking system of aircraft engine is proposed to solve the problems of low accuracy and poor efficiency installing with traditional method. The mechanical structure of the system is introduced and the structure and motion control strategy of the open Computer Numerical Control (CNC) system with dual CPUs are elaborated. In addition, the automatic track installation and the image guidance are proposed as the docking methods for the automated docking system. The practice results show that aircraft engine can be installed into the nacelle efficiently, steadily and accurately with the proposed automated docking system, comparing with the traditional method.
