Abstract :
In this study, the effects of head mounted displays (HMD) and stereo 3D displays on target selection tasks in virtual environments is investigated. By preparing two different experiment sets, we compared relative performances of monoscopic regular monitor and stereoscopic head mounted display in selecting targets. Results of controlled experiments suggested that a system which utilizes head mounted display can provide better performance as compared to the standard desktop monoscopic system in Fitts´ pointing tasks.
