Abstract :
In this paper we discuss simulating a cognitive perception-action cycle and applying its algorithms to a notional medium PRF fighter radar featuring an adaptive advanced electronically scanned array. The cognitive cycle adapts to the presence of electronic attack by designing and invoking an ever-increasingly capable set of electronic protection waveforms. The perception-action cycle ends with the generation of pulse descriptor words describing the characteristics of each radar pulse. The simulation is intended for insertion into either open loop or closed loop electronic attack evaluation systems.
