Abstract
A novel staircase waveform synthesis method employed in the cascaded five-level inverter is proposed to enhance the power capacity of the IPT (inductive power transfer) system. The explicit solutions against phase shift angle and pulse width are given according to the constraint of selective harmonic elimination equation and required voltage. The experimental results show that the proposed approach can regulate the output power continuously, and is suitable for IPT to realize harmonic elimination and high-capacity power transfer.
