Abstract :
In the recent years, supply chain has been recognized as a key factor of companies´ success and particularly one of the best means by which companies can achieve a goal of paramount importance: enhance customer satisfaction. That is why systems to measure and manage supply chain performance are becoming fundamental. However, establishing and implementing such systems remain a particular challenging task. As the literature review led highlights it, challenges related to those systems are multiple and interrelated. We suggest tackling this issue based on systems thinking and value creation concepts. This research paper proposed a systemic-based method to aid in the designing process of a performant system of measurement and management of supply chain performance or aid in the assessment and analysis of the performance of an existing system. The strengths of the method described are mainly the capacity to consider the supply chain performance measurement and management system as a complex system, to identify key values expected, to ensure their robust creation, and to highlight the relationships of dependence between values and resources via the elaboration of processes.
