Abstract :
A preliminary test to base the generation of the Italian standard time UTC(IT) also on a primary Cesium fountain has been carried out and the results are reported also in comparison to a steering strategy based only on UTC or rapid UTC data. In addition, the results of the first months of a hardware implementation of the fountain steering algorithm currently in operation in INRIM is also reported. This work represents the first step towards the realization of UTC(IT) with a complete set of primary and commercial frequency standards.
