Abstract
The electrodynamic interaction between a virus and a metal surface has been studied. The virus is considered as a spherical nanoparticle with a shell, where both core and shell are characterized by their dielectric constants. Both linear and nonlinear polarizabilities of the virus have been taken into account. The calculations show that the interaction potential in the system “virus-surface” strongly depends on the shell thickness and dielectric constant. The obtained results can be useful for developing of the techniques of controlled virus adsorption and destruction.
