Abstract :
Non-contact method of measuring the frequency and amplitude of mechanical oscillations by image sequences processing is proposed. The method includes two-dimensional slice generation from the image sequence, deploying one-dimensional signal from the slice, and then processing of this signal in the frequency domain. Computer simulation of method was performed, which showed its resistance to random noise and stationary background image. Experiments have confirmed the practical applicability of the method at ranges up to at least hundreds of meters. Laboratory experiments indicate that the desired relative amplitude of oscillations can be on the order of 0.1 pixels.
