Abstract :
This paper aims at designing a system which takes bluetooth technology and micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) as a whole. The system takes use of the MPU6050 MEMS accelerometer for collecting acceleration values which will be converted into angle values as a reference for counting step number based on user-defined algorithms. Then the value of the number of steps and other parameters will be transported wirelessly by the CSR8670 bluetooth chip that supports the Bluetooth 4.0 protocol. At last, the design constructs a display terminal by Processing software in order to monitor and analyze the data remotely.
