Abstract :
WiMAX (World Wide Interoperability for Microwave Access) is a standard based technology based on IEEE 802.16 Air Interface. This standard is the future mode of mobile communication. Therefore, it is important to evaluate the performance of WiMAX in different scenarios. In this paper we have presented performance analysis of WiMAX for the CBR (Constant Bit Rate) traffic with and without mobility. Two mobility models - flag mobility and random mobility models are considered for the performance evaluation. In the work three scenarios - one for fixed network and two for mobility models are generated using Qualnet simulator. We present the Results of this simulation in form of received throughput, end-to-end delay, jitter, and total sent and received packets. A comparative analysis of performance of all three scenarios has also been presented.
