Abstract :
The present work describes the indigenous development of a low cost, flexible USB-port based frequency synthesizer-vector voltmeter (FSVV) system that can simultaneously synthesize variable-amplitude-variable-frequency source voltages and measure voltage drops, in vector form, across a portion of a circuit. This is an improved system compared to our previously developed FSVV system [1] in the sense that it offers higher processing speed and reduced size of the embedded system, which lead to its lower cost. The system is integrated with a smart compensation module employing back propagation neural network which significantly improves the accuracy of the voltage measurement, in vector form, online.
