Abstract :
A compact microstrip feed dual band monopole antenna for Bluetooth (2.4-2.48GHz) and Ultra Wide Band (UWB)(3.1-10.6GHz) applications is presented. The UWB frequency band operation is obtained by modifying a rectangular radiator patch and modified ground plane. Further, the `Φ´ shaped Bluetooth integrated UWB antenna is obtained by cutting a circular slot followed with a rectangular slot and then placing a quarter wavelength strip near the feed line. The designed antenna is simulated using FR-4 dielectric substrate having a dielectric constant of 4.4 and loss tangent of 0.02. The designed antenna is simulated using CAD FEKO simulation software of version 6.3 based on Method of Moments. The proposed antenna achieves S11<; -10dB, an omnidirectional radiation patterns and stable gain are observed for the forementioned bands.
