Abstract
This paper presents a new control strategy for controlling the active power and reactive power of a Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) used in wind energy conversion systems (WECS). By controlling the load angle delta between the output voltage of the inverter and grid voltage, active power as well as reactive power of the grid can be controlled. Microcontroller NXP P89v51RD2 is used as a tool for control purpose. The main advantage of this control strategy is its simplicity related to the computational requirements of the control circuit and hardware implementation.
