Abstract
A meander antenna for polarization and frequency diversity is proposed in this letter. The antenna can be operated at 2.4GHz and 1.9GHz. Two meander antennas - one placed horizontally and other placed vertically are used. A single micro strip fed is given to the antennas. The antenna is simulated and return loss ( S11 ) of -29.88dB at 2.40GHz, -15.37dB and -26.33dB at 1.9GHz is obtained. The frequency reconfiguration is achieved, by selecting only one orthogonal antenna at a time which gives frequency of operation 1.9GHz and switching ON both switches making two orthogonal antenna behaves as a single antenna which offers frequency of 2.4GHz.The polarization diversity is obtained by switching between vertical to horizontal antenna. Thus proposed antenna can be used for polarization as well as frequency diversity. This antenna can be used in wireless communication for polarization and frequency reconfiguration purpose.
