Abstract :
This paper presents the effect of harmonic analysis on Z source inverter. The Z source inverters are extensively used in PV based generations. The Z source inverter (or converter) overcomes the limitations of traditional inverters. It have unique shoot-through operation feature which allows short circuiting the inverter bridge, hence omits switching device dead time insertion so that output performance can be improved. The Z source inverter can buck and boost the output voltage by changing duty cycle. The selections of passive component of Z source network plays an important role for buck and boost the voltage. Hence the effect of shoot through and component selection is primarily focused in this paper. Simulations are carried out using MATLAB software and implemented in a prototype.
