  • Abstract
Various measurement techniques have been developed to determine the Eigenfrequencies of railway systems. Harmonics produced by rolling stock can be used to check simulations, but are of limited use. An Off-line measurement system has been developed, which gives good results in case the railway system is fed from a low-impedance High-Voltage network. For cases where the railway system is fed from a High-Voltage network with a higher impedance, an On-line measurement system has been developed. Differentiating-Integrating systems were used to accurately measure voltages and currents in the harsh EM-environment of a railway. Using computers to control the set-up and to collect the data, the time needed to fingerprint a railway system could be limited.
