  • Abstract
The article deals with the issue of rescuing people in aviation using rescue parachutes, while providing basic information on rescue parachute systems for an aircraft and on emergency ejection seats. The success of an emergency abandonment using rescue parachutes is affected by the actual flight conditions as well as the way of emergency abandonment the aircraft as well. Defining suitable conditions for a successful emergency abandonment is inevitable when designing a flight manual for a particular aircraft. In case of a flight accident and failure to carry out the emergency abandonment, flight conditions are investigated as for their suitability for bailing out.
