Abstract
This paper introduces the design of 8×8 patch antenna array with polarization and space diversity for the future fifth generation (5G) of cellular networks. The antenna element is a rectangular patch with a single spatial feed and designed to have dual linear polarization. The proposed 8×8 array also has dual-orthogonal polarization and therefore built-in polarization diversity. The polarization isolation between the two channels is good at boresight. The proposed array has a maximum realized gain of about 21 dBi at 28 GHz.
