Abstract :
A novel linear hybrid switched reluctance motor (LHSRM) that synthesizes the merits of the liner switched reluctance motor (LSRM) and the linear permanent magnetic motor (LPMM) is proposed. A dual loop control scheme for velocity and position regulation is employed based on the simple proportional integral differential (PID) strategy. There exhibits no cogging force at zero current excitation and the force output values are almost twice compared with the same pure LSRM at the same current level and position. Experimental results verify the improved performance of the proposed LHSRM .
