Abstract
In order to fully analyze the characteristics of the excitation assistance switched reluctance wind power generator (EASRG), a static model and a dynamic model are built to perform the simulation of the EASRG. The static model is set up by using 3D finite element method (FEM), based on which the static magnetization and torque profiles could be obtained. The dynamic model employing two look-up tables to represent the EASRG is built in Simulink to avoid the long computation time of the 3D FEM model. The dynamic model is able to provide a more realistic estimation on the performance of the EASRG. Furthermore, the impacts of several rotor pole variations on the characteristics of the EASRG are analyzed with the help of the dynamic model.
