Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to provide a detailed design comparison of an axial flux induction machine t viewed as a decoiled version of radial flux machine. A one to one comparison is made between the axial and radial flux machine geometry to bring out the impact on torque to volume ratio. Quantitative analysis is presented to determine the developed torque, power factor, efficiency, mass, volume etc. with the help of design related static and dynamic models.
