Abstract :
In last decades, interest on high-speed permanent magnet (PM) machines has grown significantly due to their high efficiency, high power factor and high power density. However, a weak point of these machines is a risk of magnet demagnetization since rare-earth permanent magnets are sensitive to temperature [1]. The main reason of temperature increase in the rotor are eddy current losses, which are induced by time harmonics in stator currents and spatial harmonics due to windings distribution. Additionally, rotor eddy current losses can considerably decrease the machine efficiency.
