Abstract
In this paper, four kinds of armature winding arrangements are considered to be adopted in the LSPMV machine. The purpose of this paper is to compare the thrust force density and the total winding weight in the condition of the same copper loss under different winding arrangements, without considering the hysteresis and eddy current loss effects. The finite element analysis is used to calculate the static characteristics of the LSPMV machine. Then, the optimal stator winding arrangement is preferred. Finally, the LSPMV machine is prototyped and the performances of the machine are verified by experiments .
