Abstract
Here, we consider a metamaterial formed by an array of thin magnetic elements that are electrically separated from each other, and are sufficiently small not to support significant Eddy currents. At the same time, our magnetic elements are coupled by the dipolar interaction, and support collective spin-wave modes. Thus, the magnetic metamaterial formed by these coupled elements has a significant magnetic susceptibility to an applied external alternating magnetic field having frequencies close to the frequency of the ferromagnetic resonance (FMR).
