Abstract :
Broadband Power Line Communication (BPLC) enables the use of existing power line cables for the transmission of high speed packet data. The packet scheduler resident of base station called Head End (HE) provides media access to the users, referred to as Customer Premises Equipments (CPE). OFDM modulation scheme based BPLC scheduling is proposed in both uplink and downlink to reduce the effect of interference caused by the radiations of other power lines. The efficient packet scheduling to meet the customers QoS parameters plays an important role for achieving high throughput. In this paper, two algorithms for allocating resources in both uplink and downlink considering the QoS parameters (Voice/Data/ Video/ Multimedia) of each CPE are proposed and analyzed.
