Abstract :
This thesis deals with the effects of solar activity on power transmission lines. In the first part, the basic principle of magnetospheric reaction is described. The second part shows basic simplification and possible way of geomagnetic induced currents calculation. The next part describes current methods of geomagnetic currents mitigation. In the last part, the current situation in the Czech Republic is delineated.
