Abstract :
Every manufacturer must monitor the failure rate of his products in case he wants to improve its dependability and stay on the top of the industrial branch. So the dominant producer of the huge industrial pumps asked us to collect the data about the failures of the pumps used in the power and mining industry. In 4 years of cooperation we collected data about 17 pump types, located in different locations in the Czech Republic. There are presented not only basic results of failure rate evaluation but also some problematic situations of unexpected failure rate swinging with the possible solution.
