Abstract :
There are important industrial applications for the technology of the Pig´s velocity control in the oil pipeline. But previous research methods about it, such as theoretical analysis, numerical computation and field tests, have various limitations. The Pig´s hydrodynamic experiment should be done through the experimental device. However, the various existing water tunnel experimental devices are unable to meet the needs of experiment for the velocity control of the Pig in the crude oil pipeline, and a specialized experiment device must be established. This paper describes the works and the various components designs of the experimental device, and shows the block diagram and schematic structure of the experimental device. The preliminary tests showed that the experimental device can be effectively used for the experiment of the Pig´s velocity control in the crude oil pipeline.
