Abstract :
The advantage of applying the EDM (electric discharge machine) in the preparation of nano-fluids is that it does not require chemicals, unlike other nano-manufacturing methods that use chemicals to increase particle stability. Moreover, the operation of EDM is simple and without complex processes. This study proposes a discharge success rate measurement system to determine discharge effectiveness and seek the optimal discharge control parameter settings. Its advantage is the ability to observe the success rate curve every 0.1 seconds to learn the discharge quality. Studies of nano silver have suggested that the same duty cycle, shorter discharge, and repose can result in a higher success rate. When Ton uses 10μs as the fixed value, and only the ratio of Toff increases, the success rate of 10-100μs is the highest. Without the pursuit of processing speed, the setting of 10-100μs of a high discharge success rate is the optimal parameter setting.
