  • Abstract
    In the paper, modern controls for the excitation systems for the synchronous generators are studied. The direct model reference adaptive control and the robust sliding mode control theories are analyzed and implemented for a power system stabilizers. Representative solutions are compared on the basis of numerical simulations.
