Abstract :
By adding two supplementary constraint conditions on the support and core, we present a new approach to obtain trapezoidal approximation of a fuzzy number by preserving the interval-valued possibilistic mean. Moreover, some properties of the proposed approximation are studied, including translation invariance, scale invariance and identity. Finally, we illustrate the efficiency of proposed method by some numerical examples.
