Abstract :
A DC voltage regulation control of an engine connection type interior permanent magnet synchronous generator (IPMSG) for special vehicle is proposed to stabilize the DC link voltage under various operating conditions. The constant DC link voltage control of stand-alone engine-generator power system is required because the speed and load of engine direct connection type IPMSG are suddenly changing. To control DC link voltage, the proposed control has two modes. Below the base speed, DC link voltage is increased using a boost control of three phase rectifier which is applied by the direct torque and flux control (DTFC) within the current and voltage constraints. Above the base speed, flux weakening control is applied to suppress the increase in the DC link voltage. In addition, a feed-forward controller is used to improve the dynamic characteristics of the maximum torque per ampere/voltage (MTPA/V) and flux weakening operations. In order to verify the feasibility of the proposed control, a computer simulation and experiment of the 3.5kW IPMSG power generation system were performed under various operating conditions.
