  • Abstract
Internet of Things (IoT) has been around for quite a while but a significant new trend is forcing companies that had traditionally isolated IoT solutions to take a more centralized platform-centric approach. This trend is to derive better value from device connectivity and the data collected from devices. The platform-centric approach will enable equipment manufacturers leverage data collected from the field as a core asset to deliver higher value for customers. This paper discusses the key architectural considerations that should be made by large device manufacturers with heterogeneous sets of devices to adopt a centralized platform-based approach that can help deliver next generation IoT solutions.
