Abstract
In this paper we present a review of digital pre-distortion from its earliest implementations in a radio transmitter, to modern designs used in wireless infrastructure base-stations today. We shall outline the nonlinear effects and algorithmic approaches commonly adopted, including the adaptive techniques that are widely used. We also present some of the challenges and opportunities for DPD in the future, as signal bandwidths increase and modulation formats proliferate.
