Abstract :
In this paper, a general π type structure is used to replace λ/4 transmission line in designing two-way Wilkinson power divider. The general π type structure consists of two open stubs and one transmission line, and their characteristic impedances and electrical lengths are different. Through even-and odd-mode analysis, the general design equations for π type section are derived in closed form. Then the relationship between characteristic impedances and electrical lengths are determined, design charts are also presented in this paper. By selecting three different electrical lengths in π type structure, harmonic suppression is naturally realized with compact circuit size. One experimental circuit was fabricated, and the measurement results showed good agreement with theoretical results.
