Abstract
This paper deals with a high frequency AC-LED drive system for street light applications requiring relatively high power and power factor correction (PFC). The proposed power supply consists of two conversion stages including a PFC front-end and a LCC resonant inverter directly driving AC-LEDs. The current balancing of the multiple LED strings is an important issue in the high power LED drive circuit. The method using a balancing transformer is discussed and its integration to the LLC transformer is also considered. The simulation and experimental results for 100W prototype are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. The measured efficiency of the overall circuit is 93% at 220V input voltage.
