Abstract
The frequency bandwidth for the broadband wide-beam global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) antenna from 1.15 GHz to 1.6 GHz is designed and discussed in this paper. The requirement of the antenna is wider beam coverage with lower axial ratio and higher antenna efficiency. The results of measurement are agreed with that of simulation by using the EM simulation tool GEMS. The measured results of half power beam-width for both principle planes are over than 90 degrees, the antenna efficiency is larger than 60%, and axial ratio is smaller than 3 dB for frequency from 1.15 GHz to 1.6 GHz.
