  • Abstract
    In this paper, Matlab/Simscape-based model for the simulation of photovoltaic (PV) strings under partially shaded conditions (PSCs) is presented. Parallel and series configurations of PV strings with different patterns of insolation have been investigated. It has been demonstrated that the electrical performance of parallel connected PV module in a PV string is less susceptible to the non-uniform insolation. Experimental validation shows the effectiveness of the designed Simscape-based model.
