Land of the Rising Stars: JSMBE Hosts EMBC 2013

This year?s IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Conference (EMBC) will take place for the first time in Japan. Held at the Osaka International Convention Center, it will be a joint meeting between the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) and the 52nd Annual Conference of the Japanese Society for Medical and Biological Engineering (JSMBE). This joint conference will provide members with the opportunity to network extensively with physicians, which conference leadership considers crucial for the success of individual biomedical engineers as well as for the field as a whole. In fact, the JSMBE board of directors consists of equal numbers of engineers and medical doctors, and all submitted papers are reviewed by both engineers and medical doctors.
