Abstract :
Summary form only given. Determination of equilibrium plasma parameters plays an important role in design of future magnetic confinement systems such as tokomaks. One of the most important parameters is Shafranov parameter (Λ=βP + li/2 - 1/2) which can be obtained from MHD equilibrium, Grad-Shafranov equation. In general, Grad-Shafranov equation is a nonlinear, two dimensional, inhomogeneous, scalar and elliptic partial differential equation1. For determination of Shafranov parameter, calculation of azimuthal and radial components of poloidal magnetic field is necessary. In order to determine components of poloidal magnetic field, a set of magnetic probes is required which are located around tokamak plasma2.In this study, calculation of Shafranov parameter using first order solution of Grad-Shafranov equation is presented.
