Abstract :
To measure activity of lymphocytes by cytokine detection, an optofluidic device with integrated optical components and a flow channel structure for the processing of solutions created with poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) was developed. Absorbance measurement was conducted effectively with integrated lenses and mirrors. An air bypass formed in the flow channel structure was effective to exchange solutions in a measuring chamber avoiding the introduction of air. A cytokine was detected using the optofluidic device. Total assay time was less than 30 min and cytokine was detected in pg/mL level.
