Abstract :
This paper focuses on time-division (TD) relaying where a relay node (RN) separates the backhaul and access links with respect to time, and shows the user throughput performance of TD relaying against a blank subframe ratio (BSR) in an access link and transmission power for a RN. The average user throughput and the cell edge user throughput are described by system-level computer simulation. TD relaying improves the average user throughput by 36% as compared to a conventional system when the transmission power for the RN is 36 dBm and the BSR is 3/10. A high BSR degrades user throughput performance. These results provide a remarkably effective solution for the design of TD relaying.
